This position is located at Four Corners Regional Health Center, in Red Mesa, AZ. Shiprock Service Unit. The primary purpose of this position is be responsible for directing and providing physical therapy evaluation and treatment, education, and consultation for the Physical Therapy Program to improve the health and well being of patients through the prevention and treatment of disease, disability and injury.

Duties

Performs a wide range of physical therapy services; provides education and therapeutic intervention; Utilizes evaluation techniques to determine patient functional level; Evaluate and treat all levels of acute and chronic conditions; Plans, coordinates, and implements goal-oriented group treatment programs; Applies the use of therapeutic modalities and techniques for the purpose of on-going treatment; Provides education on injury/disease to patients/family; Develops appropriate evaluation and treatment plans. Provides orientation on physical therapy procedures for staff and patients; Participates in healthcare team in providing consultation services; Serves as point of contact for questions or issues. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Individual Occupational Requirements Education: A graduate or higher level degree that included: A physical therapy curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained; and Completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school. Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physical Therapist from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and must have passed the National Physical Therapy Examination administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT). Note(s): Employees currently assigned to positions in this occupational series as of September 2017 will be considered to have met the basic requirements for the position occupied. Applicants who have completed an approved graduate level curriculum and who subsequently completed additional graduate training in a specialized field of clinical practice designed to assure professional competence to practice in the specialty meet the requirements for GS-11. Additional information concerning specialty practice areas is available at the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) website. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-11: Three (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR, One (1) year of specialized experience related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal Service. Examples include: Meet patient's goals and needs and provide quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluation and test result; determine physical therapy treatments plans, administer physical therapy treatments, instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs, program information and conduct in-service training with Physical Therapy staff. GS-12: One (1 ) year of specialized experience related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-11 in the Federal Service that includes: Examples include:Planning and carrying out a full range of treatment where therapeutic objectives are complex, procedures involved require the application of highly specialized skills and plan of care requires knowledge of the latest research; can serve as a mentor for PT residency or fellowship students. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
