The role of this position works under the Local Housing Officer and participates in the administration, operation and management of the Coast Guard owned and leased housing programs.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications
At the GS-7 level: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and ability to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line work. Examples of specialized experience include: Working within teams to accomplish set goals; conducting surveys and gathering data; renting or leasing property; establishing priorities and goals; preparing correspondence and reports; developing agency directives; and coordinating, scheduling, and planning activities. OR at least one of the following if using education to qualify at this grade level: (A) Completed a Bachelor's degree AND obtained Superior Academic Achievement (SAA). SAA is met through one of the following: Ranked in the upper one-third of your graduating class; OR earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher out of 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript, or based on courses completed during final 2 years of curriculum; OR earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher out of 4.0, based on the average of required courses completed in your major or required courses in your major completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; OR election to membership in a national scholastic honor society; OR (B) Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education (18 credits or equivalent); OR (C) A combination of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in or related to the work of this position AND some graduate level education that provided the specific knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position and experience. Experience and education combinations are computed by first determining the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the total of qualifying education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at that grade level.
Qualifications for GS-09: To qualify at the GS-9 level you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 in the federal service. Examples include managing owned/leased housing program; locating adequate housing; making recommendations for owned/leased housing allocations; conducting inspection of housing units to evaluate cleanliness, maintenance, and habitability of the unit; and conducting surveys to identify housing requirements or deficiencies; or a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related
