You will serve as a ANIMAL CARETAKER LEADER in the Services Branch, Assistant Chief of Staff, Security, and Emergency Services of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Duties

You will develop, implement, and administer the domestic animal control program. You will investigate regulation/policy/procedure changes in the area of domestic animal control and makes written recommendations for needed changes. You will prepare and manage annual and long-range budgets for the animal shelter. You will conduct investigations into animal complaints, incidents of animal maltreatment/cruelty, or other matters that involve domestic animal health, safety and control; prepare results in detailed written reports. You will write, revise, and update base regulations regarding domestic animal control. You will prepare requisitions for shelter supplies and food for animals and maintain the supply inventory. You will develop and provide training to personnel assigned to the animal shelter. You will provide emergency first-aid to sick or injured animals brought into the shelter.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
