Duties
The Senior Deputy Assistant Director supervises the management of the various branches of the Reentry Services Division of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), which includes the integration of goals and coordination of programs within the Residential Reentry, Chaplaincy Services, Psychology Services, Female Offender Programs, and Reentry Affairs. The incumbent is involved in all major policy decisions in the assigned functional areas and therefore must stay current regarding the status of accomplishments throughout these areas. The incumbent assists the Assistant Director in the responsibility for planning, developing, managing, coordinating, and evaluating the programs in the functional areas noted. The incumbent also assists in the development of policies and implementing instructions, and approval of issuances effecting major policy changes.

Qualifications
MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (MTQs): Each of the MTQs must be addressed separately. If you fail to do so, your application will be rated ineligible. MTQ responses must not exceed two (2) pages per MTQ.
MTQ 1 - Progressively responsible experience in a correctional environment which has demonstrated the ability to perform supervisory or administrative duties such as training subordinates in the specific duties related to their function in the institution, coordinating and directing operations and programs in a correctional setting, evaluating performance of institution operations and the effectiveness of programs in relation to the inmate population, and maintaining high standards and work objectives.
MTQ 2 - Demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading, developing, and coordinating diverse administrative and technological executive level training programs and operations in justice involved settings (e.g., halfway house; reentry centers), and/or discipline (e.g., probation/parole; criminal justice research; legislative and media work specific to corrections). This experience should also include the ability to coordinate and direct programs as well as evaluate the performance and effectiveness of programs within the field of evidence-based practice and recidivism reduction as well as demonstrated expertise in effective change management.
