This position is seasonal with projected start date in April 2024 located at MWR Lily Pad Cafe. AN ONSITE HIRING EVENT WILL BE HELD FOR THIS POSITION ON Monday 22 January 2024 FROM 3PM - 6PM AT THE CLUB AT PICATINNY ARSENAL 121 BUFFINGTON ROAD, PICATINNY ARSENAL, NJ 07801. THOSE ATTENDING MUST REGISTER HERE AND BRING THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD, PHOTO ID, WORK AUTHORIZATION (AGES 14-17) AND PROOF OF EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS. BE PREPARED TO INTERVIEW!

Duties

Performs a variety of tasks having several steps or a sequence of tasks that requires attention to work operations in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures. Sets up cafeteria lines, steam-tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages; replenishes as necessary. Washes tables and counters. Operates, break downs, and cleans all equipment assigned to the area for food preparation. Stores cleaned dishes, glasses and silverware. Sweeps and mops kitchen floors. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Satisfactorily completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
• Satisfactorily completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 to include a medical examination.
• Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
• Light to heavy physical effort is required. Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Subject to continuous standing and walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending.
• May be required to work on ladders and use powered cleaning equipment.
• Must be willing to accept a varying or rotating shift to include early mornings, days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Ability to understand and follow simple instructions and be able to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines. This position is a Flexible (Flex) position and there are 0 guaranteed hours per week. Flex employees are not entitled to leave or benefits however, there is no upper limit to the number of hours a flexible employee may work (subject to overtime obligation and work scheduling requirements).
