This position is located in the Office of the Executive Secretary, Office of the Secretary of State (S/ES). You will serve as Senior Advisor for S/ES responsible for strategic Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) leadership for equity-informed planning and decision-making processes and in the development and pursuit of long-term DEIA goals.
Duties
Manages and performs analytical and evaluative work associated with a variety of bureau and Department DEIA program activities.
Manages the strategic leadership for equity-informed planning and decision-making processes and in the development and pursuit of long-term DEIA goals.
Serves as S/ES's DEIA data champion by tracking and analyzing key DEIA surveys, data reports, and metrics for the Bureau in order to respond to a variety of data calls, at the bureau, Department, and Intelligence Community level.
Responsible for the evaluation, formulation, coordination, and implementation of policy, initiatives, and messaging advancing equity, social inclusion, diversity, and accessibility in diplomatic engagement, management processes, and S/ES workforce

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience working on diversity and inclusion policies, programs, theories, principles, procedures, and practices as well as the nature and causes of institutional barriers to diversity to develop, direct, evaluate, and achieve comprehensive DEIA efforts and goals to address racial and social inequities.
Experience performing advanced analytical and evaluative methods and practices related to organizational and personnel diversity to plan and lead or conduct thorough and comprehensive analyses of DEIA program initiatives, and to provide policy guidance and program direction.
Experience handling classified information, demonstrating familiarity with operational security, and crisis management as it relates to the intersection of these topics and DEIA.
Experience with formulating program initiatives, plans and strategies, and to recognize and resolve complex DEIA workplace issues as they relate to DEIA policies, principles, and processes.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
