About the Position: The position is with HQ Medical Command, Deputy Chief of Staff - G-3/5/7, Army Recovery Care Program (ARCP) Directorate. The position requres managing the operating schedule of the ARCP Director, Senior Enlisted Leader (SEL) and Executive Director. Exercises control over appointments with authority for commitment of time. Forecasts potential requirements, resolves problems, and plans and projects time for historically recurring requirements.

Duties

Manages all aspects of the Director and Executive Director’s travel in the Defense Travel System (DTS). Direct the administrative operations of the Army Recovery Care Program front office. Manage the operating schedule of the Army Recovery Care Program Director, Senior Enlisted Leader and Executive Director. Develop read-a-heads, schedules pre-briefs, and answers specific questions pertaining to events and activities. Research, assemble, edit/summarize a wide variety of subject material pertinent to the organization. Compile statistical and other data pertinent to administrative/management.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing duties such managing the operating schedules, resolves problems, and plans and projects time for historically recurring requirements, scheduling and coordinating all visits, meetings, and itineraries, Compile statistical and other data pertinent to administrative/management, manage travel in the Defense Travel system (DTS), direct the administrative operations of the front office, submits authorizations and vouchers via DTS. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementCustomer ServiceDecision MakingOrganizational Awareness Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
