You will serve as a PARALEGAL SPECIALIST in the United States Marine Corps of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER.

Duties
You will serve as the sole staff resource and perform tasks related to the office administration and management of a legal office.
You will interview potential clients in order to determine their eligibility for service, identify conflicts, and assist with proper management and tracking of client/victim case information.
You will ensure the proper documentation and assistance with any client/victim visits to include intake screening, conflict checking and scheduling appointments.
You will track all legal services provided by the assigned office or region and be able to accurately respond to request for information regarding services provided.
You will prepare legal documents, legal motions and correspondence and responses to motions in accordance with applicable laws and rules of court.
You will ensure confidentiality is maintained when dealing with any and all matters involving client/victim matters.
You will keep current with existing state and federal legal practices and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements.
You will perform legal research for individual cases, analyze applicable statutes, regulations, rules and procedures, legal encyclopedias, periodicals and case law.
You will draft memorandum's of law concerning legal and case-law research and service as a liaison with various court and other public agencies to keep procedures.

- This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
- May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing legal and advisory services such as preparing summarized findings of executed research and have a basic understanding of the military justice process or basic criminal justice system

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
