Serve as a Supply Technician in the Personal Property Management (PPM) Expendable Section of the Logistics Management Service. In this capacity will be responsible for procurement by ordering via purchase card, Delegation of Authority from Prime Vendor, or by 90-2237 requisition for products as requested while restocking of supplies in various inventory locations as required.
Duties
Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Coordinate receiving problems such as substitutions, incorrect quantities, receipts, with appropriate item manager.
Generate purchase orders and picking tickets based on the levels established in each inventory point, under the guidance of the IMS.
Initiate action through the responsible Inventory Management Specialist, to replenish the stocks when quantities requested are not available for issue.
Spot check supplies stored at off-site VA Warehouse for any compromise or discrepancy of stock received on a weekly basis.
Authorize and prepare purchase orders for wide variety of supplies not limited to medical equipment, medical and non-medical supplies, services and other items through contracted or open market source providers.
Responsible for protecting the government's interest on all transactions in which he/she engages.
Assist with managing a wide range of specialized clinical, laboratory, and other non-expendable equipment maintained in the General Inventory Package (GIP).
Responsible for obtaining and disseminating mandatory standardization contract information on supplies and equipment to various departments as outlined by department policy.
Ensure all items are added to the Logistics formulary for standardization; and all products requested are routed through the clinical Product Review Committee (CPRC) before acquisition begins.
Responsible for receiving stock into inventory through the use of GIP menus.
Perform a variety of duties related to the inventory, budget, and acquisition management programs for the Medical Center's expendable and limited non-expendable equipment.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/25/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Authorize and prepare purchase orders
Manage and control inventory transactions
Issue stocked items carried in supply inventory
Monitor stock levels and rotate stock
Perform assigned inventory tasks
Perform inventory utilizing barcode equipment
Prepare and apply barcode labels
Generate pick tickets
Purchase cardholder

Physical Requirements: Work requires physical exertion such as standing for long periods of time; walking throughout the Medical Center; stretching and bending; and lifting up to 40 pounds while conducting physical inventories in/at warehouse; clean rooms while stocking and retrieving stock items from shelves and cabinets.
