The incumbent performs a variety of complex duties and assignments in support of the formulation, allocation, utilization, analysis, and reporting of financial resources necessary to accomplish the mission responsibilities of the state, area and field offices of NRCS.

Duties

Implements the state budget allocation; determines actions necessary to execute budget plans; provides input and recommendations, adjustments to budget plans or reprogramming of funds. Interacts and communicates with headquarters, state, area, and field offices and national team members. Prepares a variety of reoccurring and non-reoccurring reports for presentation; Researches, reviews written materials. Monitors status of funds and performing ongoing analysis of budget plans and expenditures. Develops recommendations for new or revised procedures and controls and corrective actions or methods to improve financial management effectiveness and efficiency.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. Time in grade: Applicants must have completed at least 52 weeks at the next lower grade (or equivalent) (e.g. 52 weeks at the GS-11 for GS-12). Specialized Experience (GS-12): To qualify for the GS-12 level, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or higher in Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through federal service, that has equipped you with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position.
