You will serve as a supply technician of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.

Duties

You will coordinate with local shore-based Hazardous Material (HM) customers regarding requirements and storage/handling compliance necessary to support operations. You will comply with established supply regulations, policies, and procedures or other government supply management guidelines to perform inventory management of decentralized and decontrolled items You will coordinate supply actions with transportation and other elements of the regional HAZMIN program. You will collect and maintain HM operations and usage data and prepares daily, weekly and monthly reports utilizing N-ERP, and various website/programs

  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specializes experience at or equivalent to the (GS-06) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: I have one year of Supply Technician specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing technical supply support work necessary to ensure the effective operation of ongoing Hazmat supply activities. Specific knowledge and experience must include performing the following: 1. Applying a thorough working knowledge of governing supply and hazardous material management regulations, policies, methods and procedures to perform a wide assortment of supply transactions, inventory management, and warehouse functions; 2. Perform inventory management and requisition in a variety of automated supply systems; 3. Maintain inventory records and perform physical inventories to ensure accuracy of records; 4. Provide customers with information on the proper handling of hazardous material, maintain up-to-date and accurate records in regards to HAZMAT related materials and processing customer requests for hazardous materials and 5.Knowledge in utilizing the requisitioning process to complete supply or special supply procurement actions to support the assigned HAZMIN Center and maintain the supporting documents and the appropriate reference materials.
