The Clinical Command Transport/Escort Scheduler is an AMSA under the leadership of the leadership of the Clinical Command Transport/Escort Manager. The Transport/Escort AMSA Collaborates with clinics, inpatient/outpatients units, Specialty Clinics and Hospital Leadership in order to carry out daily function relevant to inpatients appointments. The Transport/Escort scheduler is responsible for developing and modifying the master schedule for the inpatient population.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Input inpatient appointments requests into the Spreadsheet for developing a schedule
Maintaining open communication with all disciplines
Telephone management for Transport/Escort services
Dispatch coordination with Transport escort team
Schedule Transportation according to appointment date and time
Adjust Transportation as needed depending on schedule changes
Communicate all changes to appropriate parties (Transport/Escort unit, Inpatient out units, Clinic, specialty clinics)
Document all delays, changes and cancellations on and excel spreadsheet for reporting purposes and scheduling management
Communicate daily with the Clinical Command Center Transport Manager and the Command Center to address potential Transport issues.
Provide projected Transportation schedule to Nursing units to allow staff to prepare for additional needed assistance
Compile data presentations to be presented at monthly leadership meetings
Work Schedule: 7:30 am - 4 pm, Monday - Friday

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
English Language Proficiency. MSAs must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, Section A, paragraph 3.j.
Experience. Six months experience of clerical, office, [customer service], or other [administrative] work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position;
OR,
Education. One year above high school;
OR,
Experience/Education Combination. Equivalent combination of experience and education are qualifying for entry level for which both education and experience are acceptable.
Grade Determinations: In addition to the basic requirements, completion of 1 year of progressively complex experience equivalent to the next lower grade level directly related to the position being filled which demonstrates knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics that are directly related to the specific assignment. For GS 7, completion of 1 year of experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 level and directly related to the position being filed.
Preferred Experience: One year of experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level leading or supervising MSAs or equivalent administrative patient support staff in a non-VA medical inpatient, outpatient, or interdisciplinary setting. See Handbook 5005-117, Part II, Appendix G-45

The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-07. The actual grade at which an applicant may be selected for this vacancy is GS-07.
