You will serve as a SUPPLY SPECIALIST in the DPAS Inventory Branch, Command Services Department, Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) in BAY ST LOUIS, MS.

Duties

You will serve as the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) administrator for all government property issued to hand receipt holders throughout NAVOCEANO, remote sites, and seven detachments. You will participate in planning, managing, directing, and administering the material coordination functions and inventory control of the DPAS for NAVOCEANO. You will establish and maintain a current comprehensive inventory of assets for management, planning, accounting, budgetary, and operations purposes. You will apply appropriate DOD regulations and policies pertaining to the management and control of Government owned property. You will maintain accountability and visibility of equipment as it moves in and out of maintenance for repair and test calibration, in and out of storage, and among NAVOCEANO on-site codes, and other miscellaneous locations.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the 07-grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience participating in the analysis of problems reported by database users and makes recommendations for problem resolution. Experience providing input to functional guidance for system revisions and for special automation projects and responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and monitoring programs and procedures for managed equipment to support the mission of the components units. Experience developing guidance concerning property accountability procedures and advises government and contractor personnel of their responsibility in maintaining property control. Experience conducting meetings with management, contractors, and code personnel to resolve problems that relate to Government Property and provide reports as needed to management for financial and accountability purposes. Experience processing Reports of Survey (ROS) for the commands property which is destroyed, lost, damaged, or worn through conditions other than fair wear or tear and examines and reviews ROS documentation for accuracy and sufficiency and provides guidance on the necessity of further investigation when required. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
  • Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
  • Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR OR
  • A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
