You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTOR in the SECURITY BATTALION of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.

Duties

You will develop and complete fire prevention inspections, and develop educational programs. You will conduct physical inspections of large highly fire prone post and range facilities including mission related facilities. You will inspect, test a wise variety of installed fire protection systems that include automatic heat detection, automatic smoke detection and dry chemicals extinguishers.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to possess a current HAZARDOUS MATERIAL OPERATIONS certification.
  • You will be required to possess a current FIREFIGHTER I and II certification.
  • You will be required to possess a current FIRE INSPECTOR I and II certification.
  • You will be required to possess a current DRIVER/OPERATOR PUMPER certification.
  • Required to possess a current National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Certification and or State reciprocal to Virginias State Emergency Medical Technician Basic Current Health Care Provider Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation certification.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing emergency response/medical services (e.g., structural/wildland/rescue firefighting) and Fire ground operations to carry out the workforce mission of a Fire programs.
