THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a FABRICATION SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0789000 and is part of the NC ANG, National Guard (ANG- 145 MXS / MD 107161834).

Duties

As an FABRICATION SUPERVISOR, WS-3401-10, you will plan weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations; establish deadlines and priorities based on established general schedules, methods and policies; assign tasks to be performed; explain work requirements, methods, and procedures; instruct subordinates on new procedures or methods and provides assistance on difficult or new problem areas; recommend and participate in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies; schedule and approve leave of subordinates; set performance requirements and makes formal and informal performance appraisals determine training needs of subordinates and arranges for its accomplishment; perform the nonsupervisory work of the function as needed; implement safety regulatory requirements; ensure that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions; prepare for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises; perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operation, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or to serve as a team member on boards to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies; perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Qualifications

Military Grades: Enlisted (MSgt/E7 to E8/SMSgt) Minimum Requirements: Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
