The Transcript Records Clerk performs clerical duties for internal members of the court including division supervisors, directors, judges, and court reporters. The Transcript Records Clerk acts as a liaison to the court reporters and members of the public including attorneys and litigants.

  • A background and security investigation is required.
  • A probationary period of one (1) year must be successfully completed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of three (3) years of experience in an office performing administrative and accounting-related tasks such as cash handling, bookkeeping, or similar duties in a court or legal environment. A bachelors degree is preferred. Must be able to type 40 words per minute.  Please note that authorization for the release of your adult criminal record revealing any convictions and forfeitures, and any criminal cases currently pending before the courts is required.  If you are selected for the position, a criminal history records check will be conducted. The incumbent should be an enthusiastic and engaged professional who enjoys working with a diverse group of Court personnel and customers and lives the DC Courts’ values of Accountability, Excellence, Fairness, Integrity, Respect, and Transparency.
