The primary purpose of this position is to administer and oversee the implementation and management of the Air Force Global Strike Command's Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program. Serves as a command level consultant on institutionalizing core values for the Air Force.

As the Air Force Global Strike Command expert in assigned programs, provides authoritative guidance, conflict resolution and information to base level SARC's, MAJCOM's, Air Staff, and Department of Defense.
Serves as the strategic planner and resource development/allocation manager for sexual assault prevention and response.

- This is a Centrally Managed Position in the Force Support Career Field. PCS will be paid in accordance with JTR Vol. 2 and applicable Air Force Regulations

- A degree or equivalent experience in the behavioral sciences or social work is desired
- This position requires a high degree of discretion in relation to sensitive information of which the incumbent is aware
- The employee is authorized, as the AFGSC SARC, to receive "restricted reporting" information and must abide by pertinent non-disclosure rules in the receipt of the information
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Tier 3 background investigation and State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check is required
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-0101, Social Science Series
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
BASIC REQUIREMENT: A degree (bachelor's or higher) in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position, for example Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, etc. Note: you must submit a copy of your transcripts.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: 1) Providing expert knowledge of social services delivery systems and concepts, principles, and theories relating specifically to prevention of and response to sexual assault, domestic violence, and other areas of interpersonal violence and trauma. 2) Applying knowledge of laws, regulations, executive orders, issues, etc. relating to victim advocacy, sexually assault, and other acts of interpersonal violence. 3) Assessing program needs to accomplish goals and objectives, evaluating program status, and recommending and/or implementing solutions for improvements. 4) Applying tact and diplomacy during difficult circumstances to advise and inform individuals and high-level officials on complicated, sensitive, and sometimes controversial issues. 5) Providing leadership, advice, and counsel in the development and implementation of the Agency Victim Support Program and Wingman Support Program. 6) Communicating effectively with others orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions relating to work. 7) Preparing special studies and staff reports including meeting emergency and/or changing program requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quality or quantity of work. 8) Gathering facts and using effective, analytical, and evaluative methods to accurately assess information and make sound problem solving decisions.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
