Serve as Program Assistant for Ambulatory Care and GEC actively participating in the management of a serves as a Program Support Assistant in Patient Care Services. The incumbent actively participates in the management of a variety of technical and administrative functions.
Duties
This includes primary support to the Nursing Service Line. Incumbent provides necessary back up coverage for PCS clerks as needed. Based on substantive programs within patient care, the incumbent attends to the complex program standards and reporting requirements, as well as to efficient operations which meet supervisory as well as customer needs to assumes substantial responsibility in meeting excellent program outcomes.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Coordinating communications for staff, patients and families.
Problem solves customer concerns and refers to program official as appropriate.
Provide necessary back up coverage for other Program Support Assistants in PCS as needed.
Prepare various reporting documents.
Use computer applications proficiently and manages hardware and software systems.
Preform clerical duties to include time keeping, faxing, filing, typing, using computer applications, preparing clinical and administrative records/charts, assuring accurate and prompt communications, coordinating meetings, completing work orders, copying, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Mon-Friday, Day Shift.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/07/2024.
TYPING REQUIREMENT: This position requires the selectee be able to type 40 words per minute.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: operate a variety of technical equipment, i.e., PC in a Windows environment, calculator, copier, fax and other related computer applications; prepare correspondence and reports ensuring correct grammar, spelling punctuation and in correct format; accurate record keeping and maintain a calendar of required reports and ensure proper completion. OR,
Education: As a general rule, education is not creditable for this position; however, graduate level education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position. To qualify for this positions based on education, applicants must have completed at least half of the first year of graduate level education. Unofficial transcripts are required. OR,
Combination: Applicants may qualify for this position with a combination of specialized experience and directly related graduate level education. Unofficial transcripts are required.

Physical Requirements: The work requires walking, bending, standing, and setting particularly related to computer work. Carry office supplies, records, etc. and transport other similar items is required.
