About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Programs Office. The duty location will be determined with selection in the following locations: Alexandria, VA Vicksburg, MS Hanover, New Hampshire Champaign, IL

Duties

Serves as an ERDC-level program officer for research. Establishes and implements a corporate approach to technical program formulation, analysis, review and documentation for ERDC’s 6.2-6.4 military direct portfolio. Assists ERDC’s technical directors in ensuring that through planning and programming the military direct programs are aligned to USACE and Army objectives. Tracks technical program execution and performance to ensure research programs are executing to plan. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and communications with internal and external stakeholders. Analyzes direct and reimbursable programs to identify linkages within the corporate portfolio that can be leveraged for future opportunities. Provides leadership and direction in the preparation of ERDC-level responses to data calls and other actions concerning the military research programs. Performs a wide range of other duties in support of the Chief, Programs Office.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a two year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
