About the Position: Serves as Executive Assistant for the District Commander and Executive Office Command Group with responsibility for administrative management of support services to include personnel, manpower, budget functions and wide variety of essential administrative support functions. Utilizes a practical understanding of mission requirements and priorities, policies, organization structure, functions, procedures, processes, and principles of management.
Duties
As the District Commander’s primary administrative assistant, responsible for all aspects of travel, calendar management, and specific command requirements.
Assist with planning and execution of all VIP visits, ceremonies, and other district events.
Billing Official for the Executive Office.
Lead District administrative professional responsible for reviewing, distributing, and implementing processes and procedures.
Serve as DoD Performance Management Appraisal Program (DPMAP) Super User to assist all district supervisors in performance management functions.
Coordinates personnel actions for the Executive Office and other General and Administrative (G and A) offices and provides liaison with Civilian Personnel Advisory Center (CPAC) to resolve related issues or problems.
Budget Officer for the Executive Office and Business Integration Office teams, coordinating directly with Resource Management.
Primary hand receipt holder for the Executive Office.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or specialized experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. For GS-11: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes; responsible for oversight of Administrative Programs including: wide range of personnel management, procurement, property accountability, protocol events and scheduling for senior leaders and budget preparation; multi task using a variety of data management systems such as financial management (CEFMS), routing system (GEARS), personnel actions (DCPDS), initiate recruitment actions (AutoNOA,); extensive communication skills to address questions from administrative professionals and managers in an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business or Business Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
