The primary purpose of this position is to serve in a developmental position with known promotion potential, designed to further develop applicable analytical and evaluative skills and techniques, to provide human resource assistance support to the Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC), Civilian Personnel Operations Directorate.

Duties

At the GS-05, and GS-06 level: Performs developmental work assignments. Performs recurring work assignments. Participates in special studies and projects. Prepares written correspondence and other documentation. At the GS-07 level: Performs recruitment and placement support activities for a range of lower-graded positions. Codes and processes a range of personnel actions in automated systems. Assists higher graded specialist in researching data and drafting responses to customer inquiries. Provides support assistance in planning, monitoring, and conducting special studies, projects, and initiatives.

Qualifications

Any individual who completed all requirements for an associate, bachelor, master, professional, or doctorate degree from a qualifying educational institution within the previous two years or will complete these requirements by January 15, 2024 meets the basic requirement to apply; -OR- Any veteran released or discharged from active duty within the previous two years, but due to a military service obligation, was precluded from applying for a recent graduate position during any portion of the two-year eligibility period following completion of applicable degree, and not more than six years have transpired since completing the requirements for the degree. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. GS-05 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems. OR EDUCATION: Have successfully completed 4 years above high school. GS-06 and above SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS, or equivalent in other pay systems. OR EDUCATION: Generally, not applicable NOTE: 1. Must reside within the local commuting area of Randolph AFB, TX. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
