The position is in the Crime Victims Compensation Program of the D.C. Superior Court. The Assistant Claims Examiner reports to the Program Director or their designee and assists claimants with filing CVCP applications. The position also provides support to the Claims Examiners.

  • Background and security investigation are required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED certificate plus five (5) years of experience providing administrative support in a general office, public service agency, social services, legal services, or court environment.   Ability to work in a high-volume, fast paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Education Substitution: Associate's degree plus three (3) years of experience providing administrative support in a general office, public service agency, social services, legal services, or court environment.   Bachelor’s degree plus one (1) year of experience providing administrative support in a general office, public service agency, social services, legal services, or court environment.   Please note that authorization for the release of your adult criminal record revealing any convictions and forfeitures, and any criminal cases currently pending before the courts is required.  If you are selected for the position, a criminal history records check will be conducted.
