About the Position: This position is located in the Director for Admin at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC), Fort Bliss, TX. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Interview patients, their sponsor, or other knowledgeable person to initiate inpatient records for all patients admitted into the facility. Review records to insure all required forms are completed properly, to include signatures, dates, etc. Run various computer reports daily on patient census, diagnoses, etc. Receive telephone calls, screens caller's question or problem, refer to other areas if applicable, provide basic information and refers calls requiring medical judgment or instructions to the professional staff. Avoid release of unauthorized patient information by safeguarding records to prevent accidental perusal, screening all telephonic inquiries so that any information given is done so only to authorize persons and only by the medical person in charge. Operate an automated office information processing system (computer, printer, etc.) to produce, store and process information material. Provide assistance with patient transfer coordinator duties as needed.

• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating customer appointments; performing receptionist duties in an office and/or clinic setting; utilizing an automated system to enter and/or retrieve information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
