This position is in Region 10, Office of the Regional Administrator. About Region 10: https://www.epa.gov/aboutepa/epa-region-10-pacific-northwest This is an office-centered position*--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.*Work-from-home flexibilities may be authorized as described in the Benefits section.

Qualifications

We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below: To qualify for the GS-09 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-07 level defined as collaborates with internal and external customers to accomplish duties and/or responsibilities; maintaining executive calendars and/or schedules; coordinating administrative work of day-to-day office functions.- OR master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related; degree in an academic discipline related to this position- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. To qualify for the GS-11 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-09 level defined as advises and collaborates with internal and external customers to accomplish duties and/or responsibilities; maintaining executive calendars and/or schedules; coordinating administrative work of day-to-day office functions; and performing analysis of administrative functions.- OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., in an academic discipline related to this position- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of administrative concepts and practices. Ability to evaluate and recommend effectiveness and efficiency of work. Ability to recommend changes and procedures to office practices affecting the region. Skill in adapting analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to measure and approved program effectiveness and productivity. Knowledge to develop and apply new of modified work practices. Ability to have effective office management skills to run the administrative management of the office. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with high ranking individuals or organizations. Ability to express ideas orally. Ability to express ideas in writing. Ability to work effectively under pressure of tight time frames and rigid deadlines. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
