You will serve as a Fuel Distribution Systems Worker in the Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center in Belle Classe, LA of NAVSUP FLT LOG CTR JACKSONVILLE OMNR.

Duties

You will drive and operate tank trucks to refuel and defuel aircraft and generators. You will perform regular maintenance inspections on mobile refuelers and related equipment. You will operate tank farm systems to receive, store, and issue gasoline, fuel oils, jet fuels, and various petroleum products. You will read and comprehend printed regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions, material manuals, and compose reports to complete assignments safely and convey information completely. You will perform basic arithmetic functions to compute mean temperature, convert volume from tank temperature to standard temperature, and record keeping on items such as gauge and scale readings and volume transferred.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: You have the ability to perform the common tasks of a fuel distribution system worker to include experience working under close supervision to perform the following duties: receiving, issuing, storing, transferring petroleum and other products and operating fuel distribution systems (FDS) by use of remote switches and valves, portable and stationary pumps, and accessory equipment to load, off-load, and transfer fuel and petroleum products between ships, barges, trucks, delivery equipment, and storage tanks; monitoring levels and pressures during transfer; taking prescribed corrective actions as directed by senior personnel; complying with laws and regulations for handling fuels; assisting in performing preventive maintenance of FDS. You operate gasoline and diesel powered tanker trucks, and vacuum trucks. You work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
