This position will serve as the primary Automated Data Processing Application Coordinator (ADPAC) Level 300 for General Medicine Service (GMS) line. This position is located in Veteran's Integrated Service Network 20 at the VA Puget Sound Health Care Center, to include Seattle, American Lake, Bremerton, Mt Vernon, Port Angeles and/or other sites, as designated by the service line. The incumbent provides technical knowledge, training and program support on all computer management applications

Duties

The Computer Assistant/ADPAC uses comprehensive knowledge of Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) and Computerized patient record System (CPRS) menus to establish, edit and maintenance access for 400+ staff of the General Medicine Service. The ADPAC will utilize common network programs together with knowledge of the clinical and administrative operations of General Medicine Service to provide training on VistA and CPRS packages The incumbent plans and implements both formal and informal computer training sessions for General Medicine Service computer users as well as providing informal and adhoc support for users as issues regarding the use of computer applications or telecommunications systems arise. The incumbent works closely with the Clinical Applications Coordinator (CAC) for the General Medicine Service to anticipate and meet user needs and to coordinate efforts in training new users and assisting existing users with new applications Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/30/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Physical Requirements: The work requires regular rounds within the Medical Center and requires recurring travel between the Seattle and American Lake divisions by private automobile or hospital shuttle.
