About the Position: This position is located at the South Florida Operations Office of the Jacksonville District in Clewiston, Florida. Clewiston, historically known as America's Sweetest Town, was incorporated in 1925 and occupies 4.57 square miles. Clewiston is centrally located in south Florida about 60 miles east of Fort Myers on the Gulf of Mexico and 60 miles west of Palm Beach on the Atlantic Ocean.
Duties
Provide technical guidance for and prepare procedure for conducting tests on various electrical equipment and system
Determine special equipment required to perform test and instruments needed to acquire operating data and the extent of testing to be performed based on the amount and type of work accomplished on equipment.
Make investigations of electrical failures or damages and prepare reports including remedial action to prevent further occurrences.
Responsible for the proper operation, maintenance, repair and installation of electronic systems, subsystems and components at field sites located throughout Florida.
Maintains, develops modifications, and ensures the reliability of the institution's electronic security and communication systems.
Conduct acceptance and performance tests on systems and components using equipment including but not limited too; frequency meters, wattmeters, VSWR meter, and diode/transistor testers.
Conducts inspections and performs preventive maintenance as required by policy.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level which includes: (1) Experience in directing inhouse and contractor maintenance crews; (2) Developing, planning and budgeting for major maintenance work, (3) Determining repair techniques, resources and schedules, (4) Managing employee performance, training and development, and (5) Forecasting equipment rehabilitation and/or replacement.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
