THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST (TRAINING SPECIALIST) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2161000 and is part of the FL 125th FW, National Guard.
Duties
As a Secuirty Specialist ( Training Specialist), GS-0080-09, you will review all operations, mobility, contingency, and exercise plans to ensure combat readiness for the SF Squadron. Analyzes exercise and contingency plans to determine required SF actions in support of mission requirements. Evaluates all equipment, manning and training requirements to meet wartime, contingency, deployment, and pre-planned tasking. Coordinates with other base organizations on applicable plans. Manages the development of plans for deployment, disaster preparedness, base recovery, contingency response, and other related plans. Prepares, updates, and reviews the SF portion of the base deployment, disaster preparedness, base recovery, contingency response, and related plans. Coordinates plans and annexes with SF supervisors. Initiates changes, modifications, additions and deletions to personnel and equipment tasking and assignments through the SF Commander for approval. identifies deficiencies develops, and implements plans for increasing mission readiness. Ensures the SF unit meets requirements for wartime capability and AEF requirements.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

- Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1.
PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted: E5 - E6
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS09 Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provided a working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and federal civilian or military personnel programs; experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career.
Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion ofmaster's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
