Duties
- This position will support the Logistics Program Manager.
- This position is mission essential and will manage the NIST Traffic Management Program, which includes managing shipping contracts, supervise 3 or more support staff, shipping of international and domestic hazardous and nonhazardous material, coordinating household moves and relocation services, custom clearance, provide support to alternate offsite shipping locations and will be the NIST liaison to GSA, DOC, etc.
- Will provide services to the NIST scientific research community and technical advice
regarding recommendations, and/or problems pertaining to transportation/shipping functions.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
- Suitable for Federal employment
- Merit applicants must meet time-in-grade/band requirements, as applicable
- Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment medical examination
- Completion of Confidential Financial Disclosure, Form OGE-450)
- Must obtain and maintain IATA/DOT HAZMAT certification within the first 90 days of employment

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must possess one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level (ZA-I at NIST). Specialized experience:
- Assisting in the coordination of contracts for the transportation of goods, either domestically or internationally, under supervision or as part of a
team
- Serving in a support role that required facilitating communication between different organizational units and external entities, such as vendors or regulatory
bodies
- Providing support in ensuring compliance with administrative guidelines, legal frameworks, or relevant regulations in a logistics or transportation-related
role
OR
master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D.
