You will serve as an ILLUSTRATOR in the DOCTRINE DIVISION of NAVY WARFARE DEVELOPMENT.
Duties
You will prepare technical publications and illustrations in pictorial terms with artistic excellence and factual accuracy.
You will utilize current state-of -the -art computer publishing and graphic applications.
You will utilize applications such as Computer Aided Design (CAD), Adobe Photoshop/Adobe InDesign/Adobe Dreamweaver, Corel Draw/Photopaint etc.
You will prepare technical illustrations in support of products under pressure of rigid time and production schedules.
You will assist the authors and subject matter experts of draft publications.
You will provide technical support to editorial assistants for processing graphic files.
You will assist in designing and developing cover designs for books and brochures.
You will prepare artwork and conceptual layouts and designs for Navy doctrine Web services.
You will create technical illustration that may be portrayed in 3-D rendering, explosions, or in sequences to communicate a procedure utilizing animation as the visual communication avenue.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience utilizing art methods and techniques, applying skills in drawing (freehand and computer-aided); and ability to visualize and create designs.
Experience creating illustration and utilizing publishing software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign) to create professional technical drawings and illustrations.
Experience with state-of-the-art computer graphics and desktop and Web publishing applications.
Experience applying knowledge of military (Navy) systems, weapons, terminology, and platform

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
