About the Position: This position is located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCOE), Fort Moore, Georgia 31905. The Maneuver Center of Excellence is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Al. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Public transportation and free parking is available.

Duties

Oversees the distribution of petroleum, oil, and lubricant (POL) products at designated locations. Serves as the point of contact for the receipt, storage, and distribution of POL products. Gages and samples bulk petroleum in various in-ground tanks and in delivery vehicles. Adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures, fire, and other safety procedures in handling combustible fuels. Operates motor vehicles to transport fuel products to various locations. Operates forklifts to move loads to and from trucks. Operates gasoline or diesel-powered cargo vehicles, including tractor and semi-trailer, to transport fuel and petroleum products.

Requirements

  • Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a Forklift Operator Certificate.
  • This position requires the employee to possess and maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) "A" with airbrakes and HAZMAT endorsement.
  • This position is designated as Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent need to report to work or remain at work to support mission operations.
  • This position may require the employee to work in the evening and on weekends.
  • This position is a Testing Drug Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
  • Must pass the fuel handlers course and retain a fuel handler’s certificate per the installation’s requirement.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Work requires reaching, bending, turning, and moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to check and monitor fuel pumps, tanks, etc., and frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasional maneuvering of objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • This position requires the employee to possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain a government license to operate military vehicles.
  • This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.

Drives in all types of traffic and weather and is exposed to the possibility of accidents. Subject to cuts, bruises and inhalation of toxic fumes. Required to wear protective clothing, such as gloves when handling petroleum, oil, and lubricant (POL) products.
