About the Position: Position is with Letterkenny Munitions Center; duty location in Fallbrook, CA. 10% travel requirement to Letterkenny Munitions Center, Chambersburg, PA. Exercise supervisory responsibility over work operations; production, maintenance, testing, renovation, and preservation of precision guided munitions and equipment.
Duties
Serves as a supervisor in the Missile Maintenance Division, exercising full supervisory responsibility over work operations which involve the production, maintenance, testing, renovation, and preservation of precision guided munitions and equipment
Perform analysis/final alignment of multi-system complexes; system testing/troubleshooting, measurements, integration, and inspection of various explosive, ignition, propulsive, and electronics systems.
Weapons include Air to Air Missiles, Air to Ground Missiles, Surface to Air Missiles, and Surface to Surface Missiles/Rockets, Armament Equipment, Store/Suspense/Release equipment for all military services.
Serves as branch chief responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the work of subordinate workers.
Plans on both short-term and long-range basis (i.e., 6-24 months), the overall use of personnel and other resources.
Assigns and explains work requirements and operating instructions to leaders and employees sets deadlines and establishes the sequence of work operations to be followed.
Assures that subordinate leaders/employees effectively carry out policies to achieve management’s objectives.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position is subject to Lautenberg/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
- TDY travel is occasionally required.
- This position requires a pre-employment physical, and annually thereafter.
- This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions including seasonally hot or cold temperatures and in climate weather.
- This position requires hazardous material training to handle hazardous waste in accordance with CFR 1910.120(p) (6 and 7) within six months after the date of appointment, and annual refresher training thereafter.
- Incumbent is required to meet ammunition certification requirements IAW AMC-R 350-4 within one year of employment.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a forklift up to 28k lbs within 60 days of appointment.
- Must obtain and maintain certification as a qualified electrical worker.
- Must obtain, maintain, and meet LEMC formal training plan/requirements, to include military munitions rule training, for operation, inspection and maintenance of equipment and associated missiles.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Have the ability to perform common Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic Supervisor tasks to include: assigning work to employees and provide technical direction and assistance on the full range of test equipment maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair duties, developing repair procedures to train other employees, and the use of hand and power tools. Determine work sequence, priorities and deadlines of scheduled assignments; observe tasks in progress and upon completion. Provide advice or instructions to employees on administrative matters. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
