You will serve as a SAFETY TECHNICIAN in the COMMAND OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT, INFRASTURE AND SAFETY BUS OPS DIVISION of NAWCTSD ORLANDO. In addition to your duties as a SAFETY TECHNICIAN, you will also be responsible for performing facility support tasks in the MAIL, WAREHOUSE, AND SUPPLY OPERATIONS BRANCH.

Duties

You will conduct routine inspections and investigate work in enforcing occupational safety and health laws. You will coordinate investigations of federal employee's complaints or serious mishaps that threaten or violate safety and health of the workplace. You will provide recommendations for abatement of unsafe work habits and/or conditions in compliance with safety hazards, regulations, policies, procedures, and operating instructions. You will plan, organize and analyze safety deficiencies to determine compliance under senior safety manager supervision. You will perform a wide range of Facility Support tasks which include Mail, Shipping and Receiving, Motor Fleet Operations, Supply Operations, Disposal Operations, and general command support tasks.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

• You will be required to perform regular and recurring physical exertion consisting of standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying heavy objects of up to 50lbs and you will often be required to use PPE and Matl Hndl Equ.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-06) grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Providing supply support services associated with warehousing and inventory of supply materials to include receiving, inspecting, storing, or inventory control using an automated inventory system; and 2) Proving safety support services by performing inspections while enforcing occupational safety and health laws; 3) Utilizing safety and occupational health practices, procedures, regulations, and techniques.
