About the Position: This position is under the supervision of the Combat Service and Combat Services Support Readiness and Sustainment (R&S) Directorate. Duties

Apply Army Maintenance policies and procedures during the development and execution of Interactive Electronic Technical Maintenance Verifications, installation instructions, and other technical manuals. Utilize logistics databases (such as Logistics Modernization Program {LMP}, Powerlog-J, COMPASS) to determine maintenance trends and input provisioning data, updates, and data extraction for assigned weapon system. Review engineering change proposals, production waivers and deviations and furnishes position based upon maintenance implications. Resolve field inquiries and issues which require field studies, technical research, and investigation of materiel deficiencies and malfunctions. Prepare maintenance repair scope of works (SOWs) and National Maintenance Work Requirements (NMWRs) for government/contractor facilities to inspect, test, service, repair, rebuild, overhaul and/or upgrade weapon systems.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) technical assistance on maintenance of complex weapon systems; 2) resolving equipment operation and maintenance problems through technical research with organizations (engineering, safety, contractors, etc.); 3) utilizing logistics systems and tools (such as Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), WebFLIS, FedLog, etc.) and 4) evaluate engineering change proposals, for maintenance/publication implications. This definition of Specialized Experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the Federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Maintenance Planning and ManagementProduct Support ManagementSupport EquipmentTechnical Data Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
