About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Amry Space & Missiles Defense Command, Redstone Arsenal, AL with Duty Location Peterson AFB, Colorado.
Duties
Serves as an All Source Intelligence Analyst for space and missile defense operations support.
Initiates contact and maintains working relationships with all levels of the missile, space and space control communities, including the operators, intelligence, research and development functions, and policy-making boards.
Provides space, missile, and space control threat/counter-threat expertise using all source Intelligence methodologies.
Coordinates with SMDC Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations G3, to provide contingency and exercise support.
Independently performs extensive research and analysis on emerging cyber space, missile and space control technologies.
As the Command's space and missile intelligence professional, represents the Command at various conferences, symposiums, technical assessments, and meetings providing space/space control and missile-related intelligence input.
Develops and delivers current and emerging cyber space and missile threat intelligence training at the Army's FA-40 Space Officer Course.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Requires Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 20% of the time.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

Specialized experience is defined as conducting analysis of cyber and electromagnetic activities (CEMA) posed by adversary cyber actors against U.S. information systems, critical infrastructures and cyber-related interests. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12).

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
