About the Position: Serve as an Electronic Technician with the Jacksonville District - Operations Division, South Florida Operations Office. Position is located at Clewiston, Florida incorporating a locality salary adjustment (included in the salary range listed above). The city has pleasant weather, a low crime rate, is close to the beaches and is world-famous for its equestrian events.

Duties

Provide technical guidance for and prepare procedure for conducting tests on various electrical equipment and systems. Determine special equipment required to perform test and instruments needed to acquire operating data and the extent of testing to be performed based on the amount and type of work accomplished on equipment. Make investigations of electrical failures or damages and prepare reports including remedial action to prevent further occurrences. Responsible for the proper operation, maintenance, repair and installation of electronic systems, subsystems and components at field sites located throughout Florida. Maintains, develops modifications, and ensures the reliability of the institution's electronic security and communication systems. Conduct acceptance and performance tests on systems and components using equipment including but not limited too; frequency meters, wattmeters, VSWR meter, and diode/transistor testers. Conducts inspections and performs preventive maintenance as required by policy.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential". Emergency-Essential designation takes precedence over any transportation agreement or military recall status.
