As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.The Supervisory Aviation Safety Inspector will manage a Flight Standards organization.

Duties

The manager is responsible for aviation safety activities in a complex and dynamic air carrier and/or general aviation environment that includes experience in one or more of the following specialties: Operations, Avionics, Maintenance, and Cabin Safety. Applies an advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed and ensures the promotion of the highest level of safety compliance with regulatory standards while utilizing transparency of data exchange that includes the identification of hazards and management of risk.

• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
• A one-year supervisor/managerial probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

Aviation Safety Inspector positions have job-related medical requirements. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience is: Experience monitoring and evaluating programs for compliance with regulations and standards related to aviation safety. Experience with the federal laws, regulations, and policies affecting aviation safety and the work directed.
