This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administrator (DEA), Aviation Division, Southeastern Aviation Group, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The position's primary purpose is to provide a variety of administrative and clerical duties in support of the assigned office.

As an Office Assistant (OA) your typical work assignments may include: Performing a variety of clerical duties to include receiving visitors and phone calls, personally provides information requested or directs to staff members those contacts that require attention or further action; preparing and maintains correspondence pertaining to travel, time and attendance, property, vehicles, personnel action, etc. Performing duties involving the management of a motor vehicle fleet consisting of a variety of organization-owned, and government-leased vehicles and equipment. Coordinating personnel actions and provides liaison with the Division and HQ Human Resource Office to resolve related issues and problems.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification. You may qualify at the GS-08 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability in: 1) Preparing documents, spreadsheets, powerpoint presentations and managing the office calendars via Microsoft Outlook; 2) Preparing vehicle usage, maintenance reports, and monthly vehicle report; 3) Coordinating various office projects and assignments such as coordinating the assessment of training needs and the submission of training requests, overseeing performance management and awards activities, etc.; and 4) Preparing various documents and correspondences for manager signature. PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT: Applicant must be able to type 40 words per minute with three (3) or less errors. You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
