About the position: This position will be assigned to the Shaw Youth Center, Shaw AFB, SC.
Duties
Prepares and serves meals and snacks to meet CACFP and Air Fonn Requirements. Using a full range of quantity cooking procedures from USDA recipes and menus, prepares such foods as meats, vegetables, fresh fruit, casseroles and bakes goods. Uses the Food Buying Guide to ensure sufficient foods are prepared for all meals, snacks, and special activities. Assists in purchasing and ordering food at the commissary and from vendors. Prepares daily food report of all foods prepared for each meal and snack and submits report to School Age Coordinator. Serves meal to each activity room in a timely manner according to the schedule supplied by Coordinator or designee. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen as requires by Military Public Health standards. Attends training and staff meetings. Prepares food for parent activities, special activities and weekly food projects. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Have experience in quantity cooking and be familiar with the nutritional requirements of young children and the proper preparations of meals IA W USDA and AF regulations. Show experience to keep accurate daily records and inventories. Be able to read, write, and speak English fluently and lift up to 50 pounds. Be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend for long periods of time. Be able to satisfactorily complete the pre-employment physical. Be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate and/or complete food handlers training. "This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use." A current driver's license is required. Be able to satisfactorily complete installation, state and national criminal background checks, CPR and First Aid.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
