You will serve as a Secretary for the Commodore, Deputy Commodore, and Command Master Chief at Airborne Command & Control and Logistics Wing COMAEWINGPAC.
Duties
You will receive visitors and phone calls, determine purpose, and refer to staff member.
You will receive, screen, and forward incoming phone calls from high-ranking officials (e.g., foreign government, outside Federal agencies, state and local government.)
You will attend daily meetings with the Commodore, Deputy Commodore, and Command Master Chief, take meeting minutes, and distribute to staff.
You will serve as liaison between the division chief or deputy and team members to provide information and advice on procedures, reports, requirements, priorities, or other matters.
You will respond to requests for non-technical information based on established procedures to alleviate the administrative responsibilities of a supervisor.
You will draft emails, letters, memoranda, or reports in support of administrative practices.
You will answer non-technical queries or provide information about the responsibility of the organization to internal or external personnel.
You will brief supervisor on the matters to be considered before a scheduled meeting.
You will discuss schedules with personnel to ensure commitments made at conferences or meetings are met.
You will manage schedules of senior leaders using an automated calendar (e.g., MS Outlook).
You will arrange complete travel arrangements and prepare/process travel vouchers utilizing Defense Travel System.
You will control all correspondence pertinent to Commander's specific requirements, responds to mail not requiring direct Command attention, routes matters requiring action and follows up to ensure that actions are completed.
You will compose correspondence on personal initiative and prepares endorsements on incoming letters and memos to ease the flow of work.
You will schedule and prepare Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) travel orders and travel vouchers for Commodore, Deputy Commodore and the Command Master Chief.
You will book reservations through SATO travel; make airport shuttle and billeting room reservations as required.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- I am willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds in weight.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing office automation by providing clerical and administrative support in an office setting to improve the efficiency and effectiveness in an organization.
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
