This position is located at in the Division of Administration Services, General Services Department at the Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC), Shiprock, New Mexico. The purpose of this position is to provide support and assistance to NNMC's Property and Supply Management Programs. Work is performed under the Support Services Supervisor who establishes assignment priorities in coordination the Supply Management Specialist and/or the Inventory Management Specialist.
Duties
Packs and unpacks items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
Examines and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
Receives and counts stock items, and record data manually or using computer.
Marks stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
Assists in periodic checks of vehicles and assist in investigating vehicle accidents and vehicle misuse.
Assists in the mail operation, which includes receipt, routing, dispatch, and control of packages, mail and all other printed communications.
Assists in all local copying and duplication services that includes the maintenance and repair of all equipment used to provide these services
Performs clerical work, such as receptionist and other office support duties such as receive telephone calls and visitors and answers routine inquiries and type letters.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
GS-4: 1 year of general experience or 2 years of education above the high school.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Reviews requisitions, supporting documents and reference materials to determine priority supply action required, and to expedite delivery of urgently required items.
Typing Proficiency Requirement: This position requires typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute based on a five minute typing test. Applicants may submit a self-certification letter on their typing speed.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
