About the Position: This position assists the District Office of Counsel (OC) and staff attorneys.
Duties
Performs fact-finding research on assignments from the District Office of Counsel (OC) and staff attorneys.
Maintains the office calendar in Microsoft Outlook and reports routinely and upon request to all personnel within OC on the status of appointments, suspense, meetings, and other upcoming events.
Processes time and attendance reports through CEFMS and insures timely and accurate reporting and documentation of time, overtime,
compensatory time, teleworking, leave, and other payroll related data by all Office of Counsel personnel.
Serves as assistant office training coordinator.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Security Clearance Required: NON-SENSITIVE (NS)/LOW RISK, No Access Required.
- Possess a High-level proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite productivity software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).
- This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.

Minimum Qualifications for GS-07:
Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes: Experience routing, processing and reviewing documents such as correspondence, government contract documents, ethics reports, legal motions and pleadings and in conducting legal research on topics such as government contract law, labor and employment law, ethics, real estate, agency regulations, environmental law, and torts with ability to locate, extract, compile and analyze relevant materials to assist the legal staff with limited to no instruction; preparing and drafting professional communications in proper style and form; experience with budget planning, monitoring, and analysis; AND experience with planning, organizing and scheduling employee training. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
For this job at the GS-07 grade level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
