The Program Support Assistant position will serve in the Strategic Planning section at the Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial Medical Center in Walla Walla, Washington.
Duties
You will provide specialized support to the Strategic Planning Section by independently addressing a wide variety of issues or situations common to the programs or functions supported.
You will collect, compile, and track data and statistical information independently from existing data bases in order to provide comprehensive support of the Strategic Planning Section and as assigned or needed.
You will deal with a variety of highly complex, technical reports such as, compensated work therapy, expenditure trends, purchase and hire costs, project status reports and budget trends as they pertain to planning and activation.
You will perform a detailed analysis of data and generates a variety of reports.
You will develop and manage applicable facility contracts.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Physical Requirements: The work is performed mostly in an office setting, that is heated, cooled and properly ventilated. Normal safety precautions are observed while working and making contact with hospital personnel in other areas of the hospital environment.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Collect, compile, and track data and statistical information independently from existing data bases in order to provide comprehensive support of the Strategic Planning Section; Coordinates incoming data from a variety of sources, reviews documents, reports, and/or applications or omissions and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry is complete and accurate; develops and manages applicable facility contracts; reviews and distributes incoming mail, manages suspense's, prepares outgoing mail and prepares office correspondence; answers phones, responds to information inquires and takes messages, receives visitors and directs them to appropriate staff, and maintains filing systems. Schedules appointments, coordinates meetings, prepare meeting minutes and schedules conferences.
There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.
