You will serve as a Deputy Public Works Officer for Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach in the Public Works Department of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will oversee a broad variety of public works services including planning, maintenance, contracting, and construction. You will serve as the key advisor to the Public Works Officer on all operational, personnel, and financial matters affecting the Department. You will balance current demands with future income and workforce shaping initiatives to create a leaner and more efficient operation. You will develop budget requirements based on projected customer funding, estimated pay increases, emergent requirements, and Navy priorities. You will coordinate the acquisition, planning, programming, budgeting, funding, and manpower resources. You will set the standards by which employee performance is evaluated.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
