Duties

You will perform maintenance involving trouble shooting, repairing or overhauling complex alternating and direct current electrical components and wiring circuits on a variety of electrical powered vehicles, weight and material handling equipment. You will perform major and minor repairs to all other associated systems such as engine/motors, cooling, hydraulic, fuel, steering and brake. You will replace coils in relays, time delays, magnetic brake assemblies, defective wiring, switches, rheostats, instruments, resistor banks, and panel boards in the power lighting and signal systems. You will adjust voltage regulators, limit switches, governors, and relays to maintain operation of electric powered material handling or self-propelled mobile equipment. You will inspect or test electrical parts (e.g., contacts, brushes, field coils, switches, terminal connections) to diagnose electromotive equipment malfunctions.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1. Must have a working knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, be able to sole work problems by own methods, and to diagnose electrical and mechanical troubles from own knowledge and experience. 2. Requires the ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Must be able to use practical mathematics, as well as testing and measuring devices common to the electrical trade. 3. Must be able to work with components and equipment designed, ranging from six to 440 volts AC and DC.
