You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER in the Warehouse, Transportation, and Distribution Branch, Supply Division, Command Service Department, Naval Oceanographic Office of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Duties
You will perform a full range of supervisory duties and responsibilities including but not limited to Position Management, Personnel Management, Performance Management and Professional Development for the warehouse team.
You will provide advice, counsel, or instruct individual employees on work and administrative matters.
You will carry out EEO policies and communicating support of policies to subordinate, assuring equality in determining qualifications, selections, assignments, training, promotions, details, discipline, and awards.
You will receive, examine, identify and verify a wide variety of hydrographic and oceanographic equipment, materials, complete equipment systems, technical components, parts and commodities in a warehouse.
You will assign receiving classifications, and compare contract documents and bills of lading against materials received using reference manuals, remote computer terminals, microfiche files, bar code identifiers, printouts, and equipment.
You will unpack boxes, crates, and cartons which may contain specialized equipment, commodities, heavy equipment, or general use items from manufacturing sources and returns from other installations.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- A pre-employment physical is required.
- Must possess and maintain (or the ability to obtain one within 90 days) a forklift operator’s license.

Providing advice, counsel, to individual employees on work and administrative matters.
Receiving, examining, identifying, and verifying a wide variety of hydrographic and oceanographic equipment, material, and technical components in a warehouse.
Operating various hand tools, including hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, and power saws and specialized packing devices such as strapping tools, stapling and binding devices and tape/wrap dispensers.
Utilizing theories and principles of supply management with emphasis on the warehouse, storage, distribution and disposal functions.
Maintain maintenance records for material handling equipment in an automated system of record.
Maintain a motor pool for material handling equipment including dispatching and equipment upkeep.
