THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5808600 and is part of the IL MILPO, National Guard.
Duties
As a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) (TITLE 5), GS-0203-7, you will serve as the final reviewer and procedural authority of personnel actions submitted to the MILPO by lower echelons.
Requirements

- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. It will not exceed 14 calendar days yearly unless approved in advance by the TAG.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07 Level MUST possess at least 12 months at the GS-06 level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, such as, general office work, answering telephones, receiving and distributing mail and maintaining records; experience following oral or written instructions to accomplish work; experience establishing and retrieving files and information; experience using common computer software.
In order to be considered qualified, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in Federal service.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
