About the Position: Personally performs, or leads others in the performance of a full range of field engineering functions associated with assigned projects at Resident or Project Office level. Applies practical knowledge of engineering methods and techniques as they relate to construction. Maintains job-site surveillance over assigned construction contracts for complex Civil Works and/or Military Construction and/or International Interagency Support (IIS) projects of various durations.

Field Engineering - Performs and/or directs the full range of field engineering functions associated with assigned projects. Data and Correspondence - Compiles data and prepares a variety of correspondence and reports. Contract administration. Safety - Ensures strict adherence to safety provisions of the contract.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

• Must use and wear personal protective equipment.
• Must obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
