Asset Forfeiture Division, Arlington, VA and Vienna, VA The selectee of this position serves as a Intelligence Research Specialist. You will be responsible for for detection and development of information on financial criminal activity based on the assimilation of data obtained from research and analysis.

Duties

As a Intelligence Research Specialist at the GS-0132-13 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Provides staff support, advice, coordination, and liaison services to organizations seeking to utilize FinCEN resources, to include support to USMS Financial Investigations. Prepares case summaries, reports, materials for publications, position papers, or other materials concerning program operations for law enforcement agencies, intelligence agencies, regulatory agencies, foreign financial intelligence agencies and other international bodies, and financial institutions; organizes and communicates complex and sensitive material in formats appropriate to the audience and the objective. Responsible for the detection and development of information on financial criminal activity based on the assimilation of data obtained from research and analysis. Prepares technical guidelines and procedures to assure that operations are conducted effectively and efficiently. Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-0132-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes1) Conduct open-source intelligence research and analysis in support of financial investigations and assessments; 2) Consolidate, analyze, and evaluate incoming open-source intelligence reports and information; 3) Prepare finished intelligence reports (e.g. basic-descriptive, current-reportorial, or speculative-estimative), collection plans and manuals, and guides; 4) Work with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate, discuss, test, and validate intelligence research reports; and 5) Develop new concepts, guides, and methodologies for process improvement. NOTE: (Your resume must CLEARLY demonstrate this experience). Possession of the following competencies: Oral Communication:: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Planning and Evaluating: Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes. Research: Knowledge of the scientific principles, methods, and processes used to conduct a systematic and objective inquiry; including study design, collection, analysis, and interpretation of data; and the reporting of results. Writing: Recognizes or uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicates information (for example, facts, ideas, or messages) in a succinct and organized manner; produces written information, which may include technical material that is appropriate for the intended audience. Note: Subject matter experts will evaluate the first five 5 pages of work experience in your resume based on these competencies.
