THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HEALTH SYSTEMS SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1171000 and is part of the FL JFHQ, National Guard.

Duties

As a Health System Specialist, GS-0671-12, you will oversee and manage the medical readiness program of the state, which includes planning, coordinating, and providing guidance to all medical resources within the state. Direct responsibilities include, but are not limited to: command health programs, medical/dental aspects of mobilization, deployment and operations, medical education, sustainment, proficiency training, credentialing of health care professionals; and fiscal management, policy development and implementation. Provides medical support for accomplishment myriad contingency operations.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

  • Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1 & 3 Only. Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency WITH dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is "excluded" and ineligible for labor organization representation. Military Grades: Officers: 04 thru O5 POSITIVE EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: You must submit your transcripts and meet the below requirement. An Undergraduate Degree in Health Administration, Health Care Administration (or equivalent), Health Care Management, Health Management and Policy, Health Services Administration (or equivalent), Hospital Administration (or equivalent), or related fields such as, Primary Care Management. Other completed degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Statistics, Information Systems Management, Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering and Health Management/Health Systems Engineering, Operations Research or other closely-related degree fields. Or A Graduate Degree in Health Administration, Health Care Administration (or equivalent), Health Care Management, Health Management and Policy, Health Services Administration (or equivalent), Hospital Administration (or equivalent), Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Statistics, Information Systems Management, or other business-related equivalent. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:GS12. Must have at least 1-year specialized experience to at least the next lower grade that provided experience in applying principles, concepts, and methods to the Office of the state Surgeon; experience with medical readiness program of the state, which includes planning, coordinating, and providing guidance to all medical resources within the state; experience with command health programs, medical/dental aspects of mobilization, deployment and operations, medical education, sustainment, proficiency training, credentialing of health care professionals; experience with fiscal management, policy development and implementation; experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
